Guanaco Food Truck

Guanaco Food Truck, serving El Salvadoran cuisine, is one of the newest Food Trucks to hit the streets, located on Seymour & W. Georgia St., Downtown.
As part of Surrey's "Pop It," pop-up park, they will be parked in the "Pop Up Park" right beside the Surrey Central Skytrain, across from Central City Shopping Centre.
Despite the rain, line ups quickly formed and hungry stomachs growled.
They serve up Pupusas, a traditional Salvadoran dish as their main dish.
They also have a selection of drinks, as well as appetizers and desserts.
So many choices but I only have 1 stomach!
As today was their first day, a few items were unavailable.

I did some research on Guanaco Food Truck, and it seems the Owner, Jose worked on TV sets such as Supernatural and started serving Salvadoran eats until it grew to the food truck it is today.
It's family run, with his Mom and Sister cooking in the little kitchen in the truck.
I already had lunch plans but I couldn't resist skipping out on a chance to have Pupusas and I haven't had Yuca Frita (Fried Yuca aka Cassava, similar to fries but 10x yummier).
Only the Revueltas had meat and the decision was made.
Revueltas Pupusa, made of pork and bean, ground into a paste and filled in a tortilla was served with Yuca Frita, curtido (pickled veggies), and salsa de tomate (fresh tomato sauce). The Pupusa was nicely pan fried with a slightly crisp tortilla and flavorful bean-pork filling. Despite the filling being ground up into a paste, I could still taste the pork. The tomato sauce smelled amazing but a bit on the bland side. Together with the Pupusa, it was a delish combination!
The Yuca Fries, were simple and tasty. Deep fried, they are similar fries but with a chewy-ish texture. Would have liked to have a few more with my order!
I had a bite of the curtido, mainly made up of purple cabbage and purple onions. I had a bite of it and it was OK. I don't like raw onions but I liked how the veggies were not overly tart.

Make sure to grab your utensils before you go, I forgot to grab mine and had to wait to eat :(
Service was friendly and courteous despite how busy it was getting!

In my opinion, the  Food trucks in Vancouver lacks variety. Although some carts are serving up delicious foods, it's nothing different.
Guanaco Food Truck gets a thumbs up from me!

Overall
Pupusas are tasty
Good variety of appetizers/mains/desserts/drinks
